After a 12-month hiatus, the Mack Trucks brand is back in Supercars thanks to a new partnership with Brad Jones Racing.

The arrangement between the Albury team and Mack Trucks Australia will see two new Mack prime movers pull the team’s B-Double transporters around Australia in 2023 and beyond.

Brad Jones Racing will take delivery of the Wacol-built trucks in the coming months - though exactly which models they’ll run is yet to be confirmed. In the interim, they’ll run one green and gold Mack Anthem and a 2017 Freightliner Argosy.

The Australian-built day cab Anthem is equipped with a 13-litre Mack MP8 engine mated to an mDRIVE automatic transmission.

The last Mack Truck in the Repco Supercars Chapionship paddock belonged to Kelly Grove Racing, which ran two black Mack Super-Liners for the better part of a decade until downscaling to two cars and one Mack Super-Liner in 2020. That Super-Liner departed with the team’s change of ownership and new deal with Whitehorse Truck Centre last year.

Brad Jones Racing’s temporary Mack Anthem and Freightliner Argosy will haul the team’s four Chevrolet Camaros to Sydney Motorsport Park this week for the first all-in test day for the new generation Supercars.

If you’re keen to catch a glimpse of this year’s trucks (and perhaps the cars too!), Wednesday’s test day is free to the public. The cars will be on track from 8:30am, with gates opened to the public at 8:00am.
